I used to watch her movies when I was a kid and indeed, she was one of Hollywood’s leading actresses, known for movies like Changeling and Salt and for her relationship with actor Brad Pitt. Angelina Jolie was one of the greatest actresses that I idolized. Knowing her story through her interview in one of the episodes of The Actor’s Studio touched my heart. She was such a beautiful and passionate woman on the inside and out. I’m glad I’ve heard her story because it’s definitely inspirational.

Imagine your life through the eyes of Angelina Jolie, abandoned when she was about 6 months old by her father, Jon Voight. Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand was forced to give up her dream of being an actress to become a full time mom to her children. Both of her parents were in love with film making. The relationship between father and daughter was a difficult one as the couple Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand divorced at 1978.

Jolie’s teen years were difficult and dark When she was 14 years old, she went to a period that when she feel trapped, she would cut herself because it felt like she was releasing something and she wanted to disappear. the cutting was honest for her, and she tells her past so honestly and relaxing. Unlike other children, she had her own different dream and that is to be a “Funeral Director”. It is not that surprising that she has an interest in mortuary science. In the interview, she also said that she also has a lot of weird collections such as her tattoos and knives collection. I know that it is not usual for us to have those collections, but she is a type of person who is strong and compassionate in everything that she does. The work she does to raise awareness for global issues is incredible (huge respect for her).

A Friend

Hey there! 😊 It’s been a month since I haven’t posted a blog, it has been a busy week for us students because of exams and we have to meet the deadlines of our projects. So, last week we had a very interesting topic in our class which all of us can relate to. It tackles about different kinds of relationships and it includes “friendship”. It made me realized how lucky I am to have a set of friends who loves me. (Thank you, Sir! 😊)

Well, in this world, friendship is one of the most important things in our lives. Sometimes, we cannot live without friends. Friends are your second family; they are ones who makes you happy. Having a friend who will always be there for you is one of the best things that you could ever have in your life. In times of trouble or problems that you are facing, you can tell a friend and he or she might help you and give you some advices. You need a person to make you feel that you are loved. All we want is a friend who is loyal, trustworthy, loving, caring, and understanding. These are the qualities that I look for in a friend. I remember, I’ve been betrayed by some people whom I used to call “friends”, there came a time that I realized that it is indeed hard to find a true friend. It’s sad, but it’s part of our life, every experience has a learning. I just can’t afford to treat them like how they treat me, because surely, they would hate me. I still care for them. Sometimes, I asked myself “When will I ever find a loyal friend?”, lain guid ya kung may ara. The word loyalty means a lot to me. It can be define in different things to different people, but mostly through the tender acts of being there even when sometimes you don’t want to be, or maybe listening to someone just because you know a friend has your best interest at heart. It is easy to find a friend, but hard to find the one who understands you and most especially, the one who is being true to to you. There are many ways to value quality of a true friend. Personally, I value three qualities of a true friend. A true friend is a kind of person who is difficult to find. He or she is a person who cries or has fun with you. Being fun and sharing your friend’s interest. Having a good time with your friends over the years creates memories that last you a lifetime. A true friend should be able to keep secrets and promises. Even though, it is hard to find a true friend, I’m still happy because it made me realize that good friends come in all forms, and that is my FAMILY. 😊
